Banana Republic’s May-June 2009 Promo

One of the activities that I’ve engaged my instructional designers and developers is to look around them in their daily activities and see if there is anything they may have seen that can be translated into what they do at work. One example is looking at marketing materials for the stores they go do. I just got a shirt from BN and once I got home, I get this multi-purpose perforated postcard.

How can this be useful for instructional designers? You can create an icebreaker with this idea. You can create a learning engagement activity. You can create an online puzzle. There are many more ideas that I’m sure you can comment on below about it. The point is to open one’s eyes and see the connections.

What connection have you seen between this marketing tool and what you do at work? Do post your comments.
